An armed robber entered a Greenville Texas home during an eight-man poker game early today and escaped with $750 to $800 in cash. Police investigated the daylight incident and sought clues about the suspect's identity and route of escape.

Charles Goodnight aged 93 known as Uncle Charlie and the father of the Texas Panhandle died at his winter home in Tucson Arizona after a several day flu illness. He built the JA Ranch and helped settle the Panhandle He is survived by his wife Corinne and nieces Mrs Paul Nunn and Mrs Jack Rutherford of Amarillo Funeral plans were not yet fixed in Clarendon where he spent summers and his nephew Mayor Henry Taylor announced the death.
Warrant for arrest of a Santa Fe brakeman charging cruelty to animals follows a complaint over the killing of a Shetland pony in Randall County. The pony was beaten to death with a piece of a two by four after escaping its lot. The warrant awaits the brakeman’s return from his run and has not yet been served.
Two Pathe studios executives John C. Flinn and Harry F. Lalley were arrested in New York on manslaughter charges related to the Manhattan Film studio fire that killed ten people. The charge cites negligence and alleged violation of a city ordinance limiting film storage to five reels in certain buildings.
Three men died including two Wichita Falls firemen when a wall collapsed during a fire at the Antlers Hotel in Wichita Falls Texas. Kenneth Brice a taxi driver perished as the roof fell in. Eight others wounded, four critically, as chief J L McClure and crew battled the blaze.

Hollywood reports actress Constance Talmadge and husband Townsend Netcher, a Chicago merchant, have ended her film career after a honeymoon in the Midwest. She plans to live quietly at a Santa Monica beach home.
Construction on a new subway crossing under the Santa Fe tracks on East Third Street moves forward after an agreement on cross street dimensions and cost sharing between the city and the railroad. City Engineer E N Stanley and Santa Fe chief W W Kelly prepared plans, pending city commission approval next Tuesday. The underpass will be 48 feet wide with 16 feet clearance under the tracks, extending over a block each side for about 900 feet total. City costs cover excavation and labor. Santa Fe covers steel beams and piling. Officials expect completion in six to eight weeks if weather holds.

Born in 1820s in Illinois, Charles Goodnight joined cattle drives across the plains. He early farmed in Milam County Texas, then moved to California with J W Sheek, rising from shares to build a vast herd. He guided Civil War era frontier campaigns and co founded the Loving Trail cattle business, driving thousands of cattle to Fort Sumner before Indian attacks disrupted the drives.
