Colquit Davis and D. T. Davis two Amarillo youths are accused by state ments from the Fox sisters of shooting Harold McCarrick and wounding an officer after a gun fight. The sisters, captured in Ardmore Oklahoma, also said a crime wave with two rapid fire grocery hold ups occurred the previous Saturday in Amarillo. Police Captain Cain and Deputy Sheriff Farley chased the suspects.
County commissioners opened 87 bids for Pot ter County’s proposed 400000 courthouse. Bids came from general contractors and sub trades. 15 for general contract, 10 for heating and plumbing, seven for electrical, three for elevators and rail equipment. One bid was disqualified for lacking a cash bond. Officials planned careful comparisons later and expected construction time from 17 working days to one year.

Fire of undetermined origin damaged the home of Emmons Greathouse at 708 Cleveland Street. An older brother, Assistant Fire Chief Chester Moore said, rescued two small children who were alone inside. In Austin, Dec 11 police say Tom Carpenter 47 confessed to killing his wife after midnight last night.

Chairman Legge of the farm board warned the Senate agriculture committee that enacting the Capper resolution to distribute 40 million bushels of wheat for relief could push prices higher. He noted the stabilization corporation would need to buy back much of the relief distribution and that diverting wheat might only slightly raise consumption. Legge questioned whether targeting one food item best relieves suffering compared with broader supply measures.
