Funeral Held For Mrs. E. J. Witt In Amarillo
Final rites for Mrs. Sarah Teresa Witt were conducted at Griggs & Sons Chapel by Dr. Neal D. Cannon. She died at Northwest Texas Hospital at 71. Survivors include husband KE J Witt three sons Emory Douglas Bates Witt and Bates Witt a daughter Truman Vineyard six brothers and two sisters. Burial was in Llano Cemetery.

In Latrobe Pennsylvania Hershel Walters tried to separate two fighting friends. He dodged punches but fell and broke a leg in the fray. Walters called the incident a tough business for peacemakers.

Deaf Smith Group Brings Entertainment to Veterans Hospital
Deaf Smith County Red Cross organized a holiday program for about 80 Veterans Hospital patients in the Little Theater. Miss Marcelle Dean announced the event, with Jimmy Allred performing sleight of hand and Christmas carols sung by patients. Mrs. Norman Harris led violin, Mrs. J. C. McCracken sang solos, and refreshments were served afterward.
