On repeal's first anniversary Treasury Secretary Morgenthau plans a radio appeal to urge purchase of legitimate liquor. Officials report 10 947 stills seized since December 5 1933 and estimates show 42 000 000 gallons of spirits and 35 000 000 barrels of beer consumed.
Weather man H. T. Collman said the Panhandle may see light snow late today into tonight with continued fall into tomorrow morning. Slightly higher temperatures tonight but a return to colder readings tomorrow. the morning low stood at 25 degrees.

George Riddell known as Lord Riddell and a leading figure in journalism died at Walton Heath England at age 69 from complications of a cold contracted October 23.
