Bond Purchases Lag As Drive Nears End
Amarillo residents were urged to buy $100 000 in Victory Bonds today and similar amounts daily this week to meet the War Bond quota. Guy Saunders said the drive shows the war cost continues and inflation threats loom unless bonds are bought. 24 men pledged to sell or purchase at least 10 000 in E Bonds each before December 8. Amarillo had raised about half the Victory Loan quota through last week with total E bonds 672 900 of 1 290 000 and overall 2 257 208 of 4 150 000.
