Former Amarillo Woman Dies in Melrose New Mexico
Mrs. Texas DeGraftenreid, 62, long resident of the southwest and former Amarillo resident, died at her Melrose home last Tuesday after injuries from a fall. Survived by husband, four sons, two daughters, mother Mrs. Roberts of McLean, five brothers, three sisters, and J. E. Rogers of the Hollywood Apartments. Funeral at Melrose Methodist Church with burial in Melrose cemetery. The masthead light of Nantucket lightship was seen 45 miles away by a steamship master.

Twelve Craft Burned In Sacramento River Blaze
A Sunday fire destroyed twelve Sacramento river vessels from packets to tugs. An explosion on the steamer Flora is suspected as the cause, with damage pegged at 600000 dollars, about half insured. Vessels drifted toward the street bridge and flames spread across oil and gasoline on the river.

Four Bodies Retrieved After Tunnel Cave In
