Bandits grab $119 in New Mexico hold up

Globe correspondent Lillian Fondy reports two shabbily dressed robbers robbed the Southwestern Investment Company office in Tucumcari about 11 o clock this morning, escaping with 119 dollars in small bills. The office was attended by manager Don English and a customer, Mrs J B Donaldson, when the men entered. One suspect stood about 33, 5 feet 11 inches, 180 pounds.

Dalhart August 28 firefighter reports pilot Edwin L Elder 29 died after a plane taking off from a ranch airstrip crashed. Passenger Donald Ray Vincent 18 in critical condition at Loretta Hospital. City weighs survey for tax revaluation

City considers a tax valuation survey to base assessments on more recent values. Requests for proposals went to several firms.
