Five Die in Mexico City Theater Fire Panic
In Mexico City last night a theater blaze panic killed five people. A man in the balcony lit a cigarette causing a burning program to flare and a woman nearby cried fire. About 600 balcony patrons surged for exits, leaving two children, two women, and a man crushed to death. Roughly 50 others suffered minor injuries as the burning program went out during the rush.
