Charles Rosenthal, a 24 year old New York broker and heir, appeared at a Bronx police station claiming he was kidnapped and held for over two weeks. He said captors released him from an automobile after tossing him out in the Bronx. His attorney Edward Nathan said ransom letters demanded 100000 dollars. Detectives noted a decoy used involving a young woman during the abduction.
Arthur Henderson, former foreign secretary, elected leader of the British Labour Party to succeed Ramsey MacDonald. He will head the Labour opposition in the upcoming special session of Parliament against Prime Minister MacDonald’s national government.
