Amarillo Sets Hearings for School Budgets and Tax Rates
Public hearings for Amarillo’s tax supported school systems begin 7:30 next Monday at Senior High School. The board tentatively approved 1947 48 budgets higher than 1946 47 by over $500000, covering Amarillo public schools and Amarillo College with revised tax rates. Public school rate rises to 1.30 and college rate to 0.16. Budgets base on valuations rising from 73 to 95 million dollars.
