Stab Wouts Not Fatal Eli Curtis at Engman cafe rear
Eli Curtis 19, former Amarillo high school star, was stabbed in the rear of the Engman cafe by Marian Lewis after a fist fight. Curtis was rushed to Northwest Texas hospital with wounds to the side and shoulder and is expected to recover unless complications arise. Sheriff L Whitaker arrested Lewis and prepared to present findings to the grand jury. Curtis had been planning to enter the State University this fall.

Death of J. O. Shuford Remains in Local Hospital
J O Shuford died in a local hospital after several weeks illness. He was a longtime live stock agent for the Fort Worth and Denver railroad and resided in Denver Fort Worth and Amarillo. Rum Launch Seized Off Galveston by Coast Guard
The motor launch Rosalia M of Houston carrying 450 cases of fine foreign liquor was captured by the coast guard Comanche about thirty miles off Galveston.
