Amarillo urged to build warehouse hub for growth
West Texas manufacturers leader Robert E. Clements urged Amarillo to shift from a reliance on cattle, wheat and oil to creating a municipal warehouse with rail and truck access. He argued a central, refrigerated depot would attract business, water and distribution facilities and help Amarillo compete with Lubbock and Albuquerque. The piece also notes Kenyon Auto Stores opening at Seventh and Jackson and Prescription Laboratories expanding, plus broad retail and economic context.
