Two Amarillo city commissioners Bob Epperson and Oscar Hargett dropped plans for a city hall bond election after a conference with a coliseum advocacy group. The water revenue bond of two million dollars will go to a vote likely September 14 instead of September 7. Mayor Joe Jenkins was away on vacation and could not attend.
The city council reports all outstanding bonds totaling 75000 have been canceled with bond brokers. This resolves the issue and advances plans to call the water works bond election for September.
