Oswald Jacoby explains handling penalty cards when a meld falls short of 120. If a player has joker, deuce, two eights and a king on the table, and the partner melds four aces and a joker, the next turn allows adding the joker and deuce to the partner’s meld to complete a canasta, while the remaining penalty cards must be managed carefully to avoid disadvantage.
