Gladys Trounud eight year old of Cot tage Camp West Sixth street died at Northwest Texas hospital at 2 PM from internal injuries after a car driven by R W Wynnebowlin Hedley struck her near the hospital on Sixth street. He said the girl darted from behind a gravel truck into the road. He took her to the hospital. funeral plans are pending.

Belton Texas August 2 Acting police chief of Temple Afey Fisher was shot and killed while preparing to enter his car. A gunman in an automobile fired from a shotgun injuring Mrs Fisher and leaving three orphaned Burtchell children at the scene. The incident occurred before the funeral of Mrs Burtchell with investigators seeking the shooter and vehicle involved.
