A Friday dawn crash near Goodnight adds three Amarillo deaths to two weeks of Panhandle fatalities. Victims: Mrs. W. A. Berry 27 and daughter Claudia Dean 10 months, Alvin Roe 9. Injured: W. A. Berry, Mrs. L. H. Roe, and Hazel Coumley 16. The Berry family and nurse had been returning from Hedley.

Governor Sterling announced a special Texas Legislature session for August 30 at 10 am to seek economy and relief measures.
