Fire Victim Ben Ozee of Wildorado Dies in Explosive Accident
A gas fumes explosion in a dairy sterilizing room on Ben Ozee's farm near Wildorado killed the 48 year old rancher and badly burned his daughter Elizabeth 19 and brother in law J L Gantt. Ozee cut off the heater and closed the door allowing fumes to accumulate then a blast followed by a fire. Elizabeth later died and Gantt sustained severe hand burns. The victims were rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital where Ozee died Monday morning. Burial plans hinge on relatives' arrival. Ozee had lived in Wildorado 13 years after moving from Fort Worth and was an active Palo Duro Baptist Church member.

Plane Crash Injures Instructor and Student at Wichita Falls Airport
Bur ton L. Walker, 28, an aviation instructor and former chief pilot for Lone Star Aviation, was critically injured when a biplane carrying Leo Voss, 18, crashed at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport. In Plainview Aug 14 a six foot wall of floodwaters swept over a creek in the Kent neighborhood near Quitaque drowning 14 year old Alvie Roach while Minn Stella Adame and her father John Adame were rescued. The Adames faced a near tragedy as they warned others but wind drowned their warning. Two miles south of Quitaque lightning struck Henry Brunnett’s home and others were shocked or injured.

Fliers Blame Motor For Descent In World Endurance Flight
