Cincinnati August 16 The Hamilton County grand jury indicted Anna Hahn 31 mother on two counts of murder calling the slayings of George Gsellmén 67 on July 6 and Jacob Wagner 78 on June 3 malicious and premeditated in a case described by Prosecutor Dudley Miller as the biggest mass murder in the country.

Fire At 8382 Virginia Street Causes Smoke Damage

A fire of undetermined origin was discovered late last night in a clothes closet at 8382 Virginia Street. Firemen arrived around 9:45 and spent about an hour at the scene. the house was described as smoke charged upon arrival by assistant chief Chester Moore.

$3,500 School Bond Issue Vote Set for September 1

An election to vote on the proposed $3,500 bond issue for erecting a school building in Porter County District No. Five has been ordered for September 1. Jim Weymouth, secretary of the district five board of trustees, submitted the petition to County Clerk W F Blackburn. Trustees plan to reopen the school this fall with building plans complete amid a small voter base in the ranch area north of the Canadian River.

Government Aids 95 Merchant Marine Ships Plan

Joseph P. Kennedy, head of the Maritime Commission, told Congress the government will aid the construction of 95 merchant ships at a cost of 256.44 million dollars. He criticized the merchant marine’s status and warned most ships now in service will be 20 years old in a few years, proposing urgent modernization.

Mrs Della Hilton Dies at Brother's Home in Pleasant Valley

Mrs. Della Hilton 53, of San Jon New Mexico, died this morning at her brother John F. Williams 211 Bonita Avenue Pleasant Valley Addition. She was wife of J L Hilton in San Jon meat stock and farm business. Survived by husband four children Mrs Joe Szioy Cameron New Mexico Mrs Joé Carden San Jon and Thelma and Elmer Hilton twins at home. She had stayed with her brother for six weeks for medical care. Burglary Charges Filed Against Manle Howard

Burglary charges were filed today against Manley Howard for an unlawful entry at Burgess and White Shoe Shop 120 Fast Fourth Avenue early in July. Howard was arrested, held for investigation, then sent to county jail. Judge C W Carder set bail at 750 dollars. Allred posts a 500 dollar reward for information in the Harris tar and feathering case in Dallas.

In 1933 Sigismund Levanevsky and a co pilot rescued an American traveler stranded in Siberia after a crash that fractured an ankle. Crosson, famed for northern rescues, joined the search Saturday as Mattern arrived with navigator J. B. (Hank) Jones after a 13 hour 35 minute flight from Oakland. Mattern’s Lockheed Electra could not depart with a full 960 gallon fuel load and waited for a refueling plane to arrive from Los Angeles with Gar lands Lincoln at the controls.
