Hoover says large projects won’t hurt federal budget
Secretary Herbert Hoover rejects fears that seven major federal engineering ventures including the Colorado river development and Mississippi flood control would strain the budget. He said only preliminary funds are needed, with about 30 million annually for Boulder canyon and Mississippi works, and that tax reductions can proceed without financial conflict. Hoover plans a Washington conference and a brief fishing trip to Santa Catalina.
