Childress reports seventeen white men jailed after riots Saturday night. State rangers conduct court of inquiry with city and county officers aiding state police. Federal court actions anticipated in Amarillo. names of detainees to be wired in this afternoon with further announcements expected.
Williams of Wilburton Oklahoma was robbed at ten in the morning behind a Rock Island billboard by a stranger who offered a cheap Ford. The bandit produced a six shooter and took seventy dollars in cash from Williams after forcing him to surrender his money. The suspect fled east as officers searched the area hoping to locate a matching description.
Oakland report says the Air King once City of Peoria was ruled out of the Dole flight to Honolulu by the starting committee at 11 15 a m Captain C W Sanders chairman of the Dole flight committee announced the action during Derby hop off tensions rose among participants and spectators.

United Press reports in St Joseph Michigan that King Ben Purnell testified he had an inner vision warning of raids on the House of David colony and escaped twice during 1923 raids. He testified from a courtroom cot before being moved back to the colony.
J Ogden Armour, wealthy Chicago packer, died today in London after a long illness with typhoid fever and recurrent stomachaches. His son John J Mitchell Jr and Lolita Armour accompanied Mrs Mitchell rushed from California to his bedside as his condition worsened.
Fred Roe of Robert Lee Texas injured in polo practice several weeks ago was reported better today He has shown steady improvement and regained consciousness but will be confined to the hospital indefinitely according to today’s announcement

Mrs J C Boutell wife of the Blackstone hotel cafe proprietor was struck in the head with a beer bottle in her 802 West Elevnth home at 11 20 am The assailant a negro named Henry Steeles was captured after a pursuit by about 500 residents H L Butler Amarillo high school coach stopped the man with a plank and two youths turned him over to police He denied the attack saying he only was in the area and heard the crowd
Denver police dropped kidnaping charges against Mrs. Caroline Castro of Amarillo Texas after questioning 15 year old Bessie Richardson. Bessie said she accompanied Castro to Denver reluctantly and hoped to return with her. Authorities held Castro pending a formal request from Amarillo officers.
