Helen Wright Begins as City Hall Laboratory Technician

Miss Helen Wright started duties as technician in the city hall laboratory on the top floor. A Baylor Medical School of Technology graduate, she came from San Angelo where she worked at a hospital clinic, filling the vacancy from Ardis Cline Martin. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Martin at St Anthony's hospital. She said she likes Amarillo and knows several residents.

Governors Urge State Guards as National Guard Is Mobilized

Spokesmen from New York and Massachusetts urged Congress to authorize a home guard of war veterans to replace National Guard units called for active service. Governor Lehman said quick action is imperative and local troops should be armed with federal firearms. Massachusetts Adjutant General Erickson echoed the demand, while Senator Sheppard predicted committee approval within days.

Youths Suspended Sentence Revoked in Federal Case

FElnos Hall of Pampa had a three year suspended sentence for juvenile delinquency revoked. He was sentenced to three years at the federal training school in Washington, D C, after violating probation conditions. Hall was arrested in Cordell Oklahoma with a stolen motor vehicle and had pleaded guilty to juvenile delinquency.

Mrs Hershell Mason Dies in Colorado

Mrs Hershell Mason a 28 year old former Amarillo resident died in Denver Colorado this morning Her body is being returned to Amarillo by Boxwell Brothers She had lived in Denver about five years since moving from Amarillo She is survived by her husband a daughter Jerry Lee eight sisters and three brothers Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 4 PM at Boxwell Brothers Chapel with Rev E R Foster officiating Burial will be in Llano Cemetery

Couple to be married by brother in order at Boston ceremony

Thomas McMorrow and Miss Mary Martus crossed the continent from Berkeley to Boston to be the first couple married by the bride’s brother Rev. Joseph A. Martus, recently ordained Jesuit priest. They returned to resume studies at the University of California.

Cade Will Speak to Odd Fellows Here

Wildorado Farmer Crushed Between Tractor and Plow

Wildorado farmer Ross Grantham suffered a crushed leg when a tractor backing gear pinned him against a plow. His 10-year-old son loaded him into a truck and drove to the farmhouse for help. the father was semi conscious at Northwest Texas Hospital.
