Judge Nelson Recovers Old Family Bell
Judge Nelson restores a family dinner bell once on his grandfather's Titus County farm. He found it with the son of the farm buyer, shipped it to Amarillo, and mounted it at his home 3717 Fountain in the Country Club district. The bell historically summoned meals, fires, and neighborhood events.

Asheville taps emergency reservoir with 24 hour capacity as floods wash out main lines into the city. City Manager P M Burdette urges conservation while the reservoir level drops. Preview of Darktown Strutters Ball at Cotton Club
More than 160 people packed the Cotton Club to see about 40 negro jitterbug couples rehearsing for a North Amarillo Kiwanis committee. Fifteen couples were selected for the show, which supports the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society museum fund at Canyon. Proceeds from the Monday event go to the Main Unit project.

Prizes Announced In Union Label League Contests
