Four men robbed Stockyards National Bank messenger Jerry Green 21 near the post office in Fort Worth at 10 A M. They seized a bag with $2,000 cash and $4,000 in checks as Green left the Texas and Pacific freight depot. A parked car blocked his path, a robber grabbed the bag and keys, and the quartet fled in their vehicle.
The Public Service Commission extended an ultimatum to Kansas refiners today. If the price paid for Kansas crude is not raised this week to at least 60 cents a barrel, a hearing will be ordered to determine the nature and extent of a statewide shutdown order.
An army of 130 National Guardsmen patrolled Oklahoma oil fields as Governor Murray enforces a $1 a barrel crude oil mandate. Oil workers fear out of state supplies could keep refineries running for a year. Lt. Col. Cicero I. Murray reports no disturbances and no Texas communication.
Tickets for the Mid-Summer Horse Show at the Tri-State Fair grounds go on sale at City Drug Store No 1 on Polk Street. Prices range from 50 cents to 1 50 for box seats with reserved sections at 1.00. The event is sponsored by the Tri-State Fair Association and the Junior Welfare League with 25 percent of receipts for prizes and profits split between the league and fair association for grounds improvements. The show runs next Friday and Saturday at 8 15 p m with a capacity crowd expected.
Judge FE C Nelson Jr of Potter County court at law opened the second week of the August term but postponed the trial docket to Wednesday due to Commissioners' Court session. Non jury cases and default judgments to be handled the first two days. several criminal cases set for the week.

Surrounding New Mexico, the north Panhandle, and the South Plains saw heavy showers with amounts from one-half inch to three inches in places. The Texas Senate, alarmed by rising juvenile delinquency, unanimously passed a resolution urging parents, religious groups, and schools to intensify spiritual efforts. The Amarillo Clearing House Association was named liquidating agent to acquire assets and liabilities. Officials set up temporary offices and paid depositors amid public congratulations.
