A. H. Willborn to build a two story brick warehouse at 109-111 Fillmore for Albert Randall and Sigman Furniture Manufacturing Company of Oklahoma City. In Oklahoma City on August 9 United Press reports Judge Jaspar Roberts moved a robbery case forward despite the defendant Thomas Darmon being deaf and unable to plead orally. Attorney Troy Griffin argued the law requires oral plea and reading, but the judge ruled the trial would continue. Darmon and several witnesses were deaf and dumb, and Darmon was acquitted.
After a closed city commission meeting with Santa Fe railway officials, Jeff D. Bartlett said agreement on a viaduct at East Tenth Street near the Santa Fe crossing is virtually assured. If final Chicago approval comes, work will start soon with the railroad to handle construction and the city to manage street and drainage work.
Chicago reports State's Attorney Crowe planning a counter strategy against Leopold and Loeb regarding the Franks murder case. He will call fifty witnesses including two former sweethearts to show the youths' normalcy or to prove insanity and seek a jury trial on mental status.

Roy Richard Hulen aged six died yesterday morning at 11 30 from tonsillitis followed by pneumonia. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Roy Hulen of 809 North Lincoln Street. The body was held at Griggs funeral parlor pending relatives arrival from New Mexico before funeral plans are announced.

Wichita Falls Texas August 9 Mrs J T Burris was probably fatally injured when she leaped from a second story window of her burning home after escape routes were blocked by flames. Her 4 year old son followed but escaped injury.
The forecast calls for cooler conditions with probable showers. Yesterday's high reached 94 at 1 PM, up from 92 a year earlier, and the low dipped to 72 versus 70 last year.
Heavy showers with local amounts exceeding half an inch drenched Amarillo and nearby areas yesterday afternoon. Rain extended from Washburn to Childress with additional downpours at Plainview and a track of rain along the Rock Island to McLean. Lubbock also reported heavy rain last night.
Former Ford officials Ford and James Couzens become political rivals as petitions are filed to place Ford on the Republican primary ballot for the U S Senate nomination. Couzens, a former Ford vice president and treasurer, seeks reelection. Ford has not commented.
Amarillo Tri-State exposition officials announce a larger dairy cattle show for this year with 400 entries assured. A Ford roadster owned by The Amarillo Globe disappeared from Fifth street between Taylor and Fillmore late last night. Police were notified and no trace had been found by early morning.
Paris August 10 Premier Herriot returns to London with full authority to sign an accord backing Allied aims. The plan includes military evacuation of the Ruhr at an early date and safeguards on German disarmament in exchange. Marshal Foch helped steer talks with Herriot and the cabinet backed the report.
Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture will send a large exhibit to the Amarillo Tri-State exposition and seeks substantial space in the agricultural building. Beaver and Cimarron counties plan a tri-county exhibit, creating a sectional display larger than the Dallas State fair.
Chicago August 9 American labor both organized and unorganized will back the Republican ticket in November Powers first president of the American Federation of Labor declared via the Republican national committee. Powers and Gompers helped form the AFL and led it until Gompers took control he said labor leaders cannot deliver the vote of organized labor. Like other Americans organized labor members vote as they choose.
Dallas August 9 Virtually all cotton owned by the Texas Farm Labor union members will be sold centrally through the state sales office after a two day meeting with over 100 county representatives. Pooled cotton will go to a Galveston warehouse for storage and the staple will be graded here under Oscar Adams state sales agent with a radical shift from past years.
