In Lockhart August 7 a 60 year old farmer John Kelley was shot to death while riding in a car with his son Merf Kelley. John Milliard Scott 41, Kelley’s brother in law was held for questioning as investigators cite family cattle ownership dispute as the motive.

Amarillo man waives hearing on liquor charge
A. W. Rutledge of Amarillo waived a preliminary hearing on a charge of possessing intoxicating liquor. He was bound over to the next Potter County grand jury with bond set at 500 dollars. Deputy Roy Brewer said a small quantity of whisky was seized in a raid on Rutledge's home.

Three Injured In Houston In Critical Condition
Three men remained in critical condition today from burns suffered in Monday’s Shell refinery explosion that killed four workers. W. J. Rhymes of La Porte FC Wagemner of Houston and Alex Vincent of La Porte were listed in critical condition.
