Brennan was 63, diabetes affected him, survived by his widow and adopted daughter.
W R Doane formerly of St Joseph Missouri purchased the Amarillo Western League club from five local owners for 40000 dollars. He will keep the franchise in Amarillo and has long been active in Texas concessions and Western League affairs. Last season he held a half interest in the Lincoln franchise sold to Pueblo. The previous Amarillo owners were Bob Ames Jim Whittington J H Coker Hial Witherspoon and Cal Farley.
Italian sportsman and real estate dealer Tony Vatullo was kidnapped by two bandits in Denver early today. They robbed him of 250 dollars in jewelry and 10 dollars in cash and left him after tying his hands and feet. Griggs Ambulance responded to the scene.
Amarillo trade territory expects a 23 million bushel wheat harvest for 1928 based on 18,342 carloads shipped by three railroads through August 4. Grain men estimate 20 percent remains to be marketed, pushing total to just over 23 million. Railroads report Santa Fe 9,608 cars, Rock Island 2,719, Fort Worth and Denver 1,015 from Tex line to Childress.

The body of Miss Jennie Constance, 42, head of the English Department at Bradley Polytechnic Institute Meorie, was found on an Evanston residence lawn. A blood stained iron pipe lay nearby, and stains on the sidewalk suggest she was attacked while walking. Police believe the killing was instantaneous and that the assailant dragged her into the yard.
