Judge Felix Robertson, Democratic governor candidate, spoke for an hour on the courthouse lawn to about 1000 listeners. McLean Chamber of Commerce works with W H Holmes to drill Second Gray county test north of McLean. A new crossing and six miles of road will connect to the Morse No 2 location in Gray county. Holmes No 1 Morse well near McLean has sparked local efforts to develop petroleum resources and locate a large pool in central Gray county.
Counties from Texas South Plains, western Oklahoma and eastern New Mexico prepare exhibits for Amarillo Tri-State Fair, September 22 to 28. London reports that the allies and the Germans have reached a complete agreement on how defaults are to be declared under the Dawes plan.
The Merchants Produce company building was entered last night and about $500 in cash and checks taken from a small safe in the main office. The safe was pried open with a crow bar, likely entry gained by a broken window and glass door on the second floor. Deputies describe the crime as a one man job. Fingerprints were photographed this morning and an arrest is expected within hours.
Chicago Aug 7 Dr Bernard Glueck alienist and director of the bureau of childrens guidance at New York testifying for the defense in the Franks murder hearing urged that understanding based on a healthy comradeship between parent and child is the solution for children liable to criminal acts He said the home should create an atmosphere where a child can talk openly and be heard He warned that tragedy shows lack of full understanding of the whole child and condemned harsh discipline and school systems that push only academic performance.
