No building work will resume until after the meeting tomorrow morning according to fair officials.
Twenty benches have been ordered by city manager Jeff D. Bartlett for the municipal tourist camp grounds and will be placed as soon as made. The benches should improve visitor comfort as the grounds have been crowded to capacity in recent weeks, limiting parking and service.
The Amarillo Country Club will hold its annual stockholders meeting tomorrow night to elect officers for the coming year and name two new directors. About 200 stockholders are expected to attend.
Col. Ernest O. Thompson will preside as Judge Felix D. Robertson delivers the second speech of his runoff campaign on the courthouse lawn at 8 p.m. Robertson leads the Texas gubernatorial race by about 46 000 votes over Miriam Ferguson and is slated to finish his campaign in East Texas, with heavy support anticipated in West Texas.
Conrad W. Crocker filed a suit on behalf of EK. F. Brown of Ipswich seeking 100,090,000 in damages from the New Haven, Boston & Maine roads, Boston Railroad Holding Co, the estates of J. P. Morgan and William Rockefeller, and others, alleging the New Haven’s part in Boston & Maine control. Brown chairs the Boston & Maine Railroad Stockholders Protective Co.
Lansing August 6 A move to place Henry Ford on the September Republican primary ballots for the United States senatorial nomination against Sen James Couzens was launched here, led by interests backing W. W. Potter for governor. Ford circulars were printed and one set will circulate in Detroit.

The Pilot Point sheriff's office alerted to watch for three boys all under 21 who allegedly stole a Ford touring car last night and were headed toward Amarillo.
A group of Empire Oil and Gas leaders from Bartlesville and New York arrived in Amarillo on Monday for an inspection of the Panhandle field. H. R. Straight led the party, with W. A. Sinsheimer O. W. Ambrose Floyd C. Brown Russell Straight and W. J. Walker also present. Rosa Phillips of City Light and Water hosted the visitors.
Local attorney M J R Jackson consents to seek the associate justice seat on the Court of Civil Appeals seventh district after Judge Boyce resigns. He may run unopposed though unofficial talk cites J W Sanders of Canadian as a possible challenger. Jackson, 53, Alabama native raised in Texas, has practiced law 25 years and helps lead Underwood Jackson firm.
The Globe offers free tickets for married couples who present a marriage certificate at its office. The film Her Marriage Vow stars Monte Blue and Beverly Bayne and opens tomorrow at Mission theater for a two day run. Couples married since January 1 1924 qualify for two tickets plus one month free Globe subscription.
Wisconsin suffers its worst storm in years with eight deaths confirmed and property losses in the millions. Bridges near West Bend are being blown to improve flood flow as rail lines from Milwaukee to Green Bay lose many bridges and train service is halted. Victims include Oscar Lundgren 20 and Arthur Sorrensom 10 from lightning and Ruth McCann 2 drowned near Arnold.
A band of about fifty armed outlaws attacked a hacienda near Opichen in Yucatan state killing seventeen unarmed people and wounding ten, a Merida dispatch to Universal reported from Mexico City on August 6.
Western Oklahoma precincts report early counts narrowing E. B. Howard lead over J. C. Walton for the Democratic nomination. By 1 p.m. 1,397 of 2,996 precincts had Howard 43,651 and Walton 41,655 votes.

Rainfall measured from two to three inches last night from Higgins to Canadian with half an inch from Canadian to Pampa and light showers between Spearman and Shattuck. Showers also between Post and Slayton. Fort Worth reports heavy rains in Hemphill County from Canadian today.
Auditors H. V. Robertson and Company have been reviewing the city secretary’s books for several weeks and will likely present their report to the city commission next Tuesday. The firm reports the books are in excellent order. Also, Henry L. Ford seeks a second term as county attorney.
