Robbers broke into the Maiden Bank this morning and forced the safe containing 4000 dollars in cash and 15000 dollars in securities into the street then escaped in a truck.
Texas highway commission awards contracts totaling 945 769 for 16 counties as part of a two day notice. The projects cover 52 miles of concrete pavement 163 miles of grading and drainage and more than 400 miles of construction plus 19 bridges across multiple highways including 66 150 156 18 3 44 163 117 84 and 64.

Francis Hubert a 47 year old from Hillsboro Texas was imprisoned three days in a box car before being moved to a city jail for treatment of a foot injury. He says troops shoved him into the car after rout of bonus seekers and that he has had no food or water since Sunday.

H. C. Henderson, about 45, was found dead in a room at the Auditorium Hotel on East Fir Street at 1 PM today. Undertakers say he died shortly before noon from an overdose of medicine after empty bottles were found. He was a sales representative for Standard Appliance Products Company and had previously worked at Gibner Barque stand. His home and relatives could not be determined. He had checked into the hotel the previous night.
TUCKER PRISON FARM Ark Aug 4 Four convicts were killed and three wounded after a daring break from the prison camp stockade. Seven escapees killed a guard and wounded another then were surrounded 25 miles from the camp in a woods battle that left three convicts dead and two wounded before two more surrendered. R G Jones a trusty guard aided the breakout and one guard Else Howell was among the wounded. The convicts seized weapons and ammo and disabled others before fleeing on foot in what prison officials say was the first major escape from Arkansas penal institution in years.
