F H McGregor Amarillo attorney of 24 years was named judge of Potter County Family Relations Court by the juvenile board. The appointment awaits Commissioners Court approval. The court can hear certain felony and misdemeanor family relations cases and other civil matters. Clerk position to be discussed with the new judge. A calm armed robber robbed the Morningside Bank in Bronson Iowa of 870 dollars yesterday afternoon and even cashed two customers’ checks. He tied the bank manager Ollie G. Smith to a chair and fled via car and a chartered plane, with authorities tracing him to Elk Point South Dakota. The robber declared vacation status and mentioned being sent for, before leaving with the money in a paper sack. The getaway car was later found at Sioux City Municipal Airport.

Farm crash kills farmer at St Francis intersection
Oscar A. Detten 45, a farmer from nine miles northwest of St Francis, died when his 1947 Ford collided with a 1949 Chevrolet driven by his nephew Donald Detten 19 at the St Francis Avenue and Pen Masterson Highway junction two miles west of St Francis. Miss Peggy Hoeling 20 suffered serious head and arm injuries. Donald was uninjured. The intersection lacks stop signs and highway patrols cite no traffic control as a likely cause. A rosary for Detten is planned tonight at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home chapel.
