Robert Berrington was arrested in Borger after alleged theft of about 200 dollars in checks from Golden Rule Tents and Furnishings. The three checks totaling 111.26 105 and 72 were endorsed to Kentx and Jacobs, and he was jailed pending transfer to county for grand larceny charges.
The Giveon Pew Lumber firm opens a new yard north of the Morning subdivision and west of North Highlands on the Penhandie highway. Gibson-Faw is a large western lumber company with yards in Texas Wisconsin California Colorado and New Mexico. Holman Gibson, D. W. Faw, and David Gibson relocate to Amarillo from Canon City Albuquerque and San Diego respectively. The yard will stock a full range of lumber and building materials.
Sheriff Wiley Pollard and deputies seized liquor and equipment in a weekend crackdown on prohibition violators. Five men were arrested, including John Parthoner Ollie Ford and C M Johnson at Sam Morris farm two miles southwest of Amarillo. Ford bonded out, Parthoner and Johnson face examining trial with bonds around 750 dollars. Jack Porter also arrested for possession and sale at a hotel. Duff Stanley and Joe Newley held five miles west on possession of corn whiskey. A gallon of corn liquor a siphon hose and a five gallon keg and a cooking vat were confiscated at the Morris farm.
