What I don’t know would fill a book
In a 1947 Billy Rose column he muses on book titles for a planned limited edition. He weighs names by partners and artists, jokes about a dignified jacket portrait, and invites readers to submit titles. Stoopnagle ventures and odd labels tease readers
A quirky tract lists fictional schemes by the Stoopnagle company including NOT VIA AIR MAIL labels for three cent stamps and HEIR MALE births, plus a dry cleaning spoof and an Acquaintance Widening service. The piece ends with shipping statistics and Texas insurance certificates from 1947. It blends humor with brief notices on rail car loadings and insurer authorizations.
