Washington April 27 United Press reports the Senate Armed Services Committee backed starting combined draft and universal training legislation. The plan would draft 161000 youths yearly for 12 months of training from ages 18 to 29 and 190000 men ages 19 to 25 for two years regular Army service. House opposition remains, with Chairman Walter G Andrews saying a joint plan is out of the question.
