Fisherman Rescues Youth From Creek With Hook
In Kansas City on April 26 an 18 year old, John C. Moses, fell 20 feet from a rock ledge into Indian Creek. Fisherman Elvin A. Holker, 42, used a hook and line on a bamboo pole to snag Moses clothing and pull him ashore. Holker then revived the unconscious youth with artificial respiration after towing him about 40 feet to safety.

City officials face a housing ofice space pinch after Potts Ingerson owner of a Fourth and Tyler building gives 90 days notice to move out. An Amarillo man, Albert Howard, 23, suffered critical head injuries in a Sixth and Polk crash around 12:08 this morning. Miss Janie Smith, 21, and others were injured. Smith was treated and released from St. Anthony's Hospital. Roy Van Howard drove the car with Howard and Miss Smith. Vaughn McElrath’s car collided with them at Polk and Sixth.

Saboteurs Freed From Prison To Return To Germany
Two former Nazi saboteurs Ernest Burger and George Dasch, convicted after landing from submarines in 1942, were freed and authorized to return to Germany by President Truman. They had received life and 30 year sentences, later reduced, and have served about five years.
