Veterans Land Bill Approved by House Committee
A Texas public lands committee reported favorably a veterans land sale measure to the House. The plan proposes a constitutional amendment authorizing a $25,000,000 bond issue to create a fund to purchase land for veterans of World War II at favorable terms. The substitute replaces an earmark from the permanent school fund, which faced opposition from school interests.
