James Wise 71 dies in Tucumcari New Mexico

James Madison Wise a former Amarillo Panhandle rancher died suddenly at 7:25 this morning at his Tucumcari New Mexico home. Born January 17 1866 in Denton County he moved west in the 1880s married Elizabeth Burnham in 1895 filed a Quay County ranch claim in 1901 and died leaving a widow an adopted daughter Florence a sister Dolly Johnson and two brothers W R Wise and George Wise. Funeral arrangements were to be made this afternoon.

Youth Is in Jail After Army Game in Amarillo

D L Eubanks, 20, Amarillo, faces theft from person charges after allegedly grabbing a sucker’s stake during an Army game con. He is jailed in Potter County on $750 bond. Complainant Percy Hamilton of Bastrop Louisiana says he lost $40. Nelson Ault of South Bend Indiana witnessed the scene.
