Texas Week-End Accident Toll Brings Fourteen Deaths

The weekend accident toll in Texas reached fourteen with fatalities across Dallas, Commerce, Pampa, McAllen, Texarkana, Granby, Giddings, and nearby areas. Labor Heads See Possible Modification of Prohibition Law

Amarillo High Boy Honored in National Contest

Bob Brandenburg a senior at Amarillo High School won first place in the national high school literary contest sports division sponsored by Quill and Scroll. Nearly a million participants competed with 1,000 awardees. His story "Sandies Sweep Way To Finals" appeared as the main sports feature in The Sandstorm. Mexico Special Reservations Are Going Fast

Woman Injured in Car Crash Improving Near Muleshoe

Injuries to Mrs. Ruth Childers Borger woman were not serious and she is improving after a car crash over an embankment Saturday night near Muleshoe. Mrs. J. M. Capehart died Sunday afternoon at Sudan from injuries. Mrs. Childers, her mother and husband Grady Childers were traveling from Borger to Muleshoe. Mr. Childers was uninjured.

City Official Injured in Motorcycle Spill

City tax collector and assessor James Bowen suffered internal injuries and a possible skull fracture after a motorcycle crash on West Tenth Avenue. He remained in Northwest Texas Hospital for several days with a physician stating he was not seriously injured, despite initial concerns.
