William F. McDermott of the Methodist Episcopal promotional department forecasts a union of the Presbyterian and Methodist Episcopal churches. The plan will be presented to the Methodist general conference in Kansas City and to the Presbyterian assembly in Tulsa. She says most women could be good home-makers if given good plumbing well-built kitchens and labor-saving devices.
Mail from the Tri-State Fair association adds two county champions W. D. Fulton from Perryton Ochiltree county and Thomas G. Crawford from Carlsbad New Mexico to 22 entrants for the All Panhandle fiddle championship Friday at the Municipal auditorium. Six to nine judges to be chosen by old fiddlers from Panhandle counties. Wilkins and Lieut Carl B Kielson, icebound at Spitsbergen after their feat from Point Barrow, Alaska, accepted an invitation from the Norwegian-American line to join the guests on their return voyage to New York. They await a Norwegian ship en route to Spitsbergen and expect to depart New York around mid January.
Floyd Bennett who piloted the first plane to reach the North Pole will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery near Admiral Robert E. Peary. The airman died while attempting to aid three fellow fliers and will be laid to rest after arrival from Quebec aboard a special car at 1 40 p m escorted by his wife and Commander Byrd.
Three members of the German transatlantic Bremen mourn the death of Mier in Quebec as word reaches the crew and Major Fitzmaurice. Captain Koehl and Baron von Huenefeld relay the news while expressing sympathy to Mrs. Bennett. The aviators credit bad weather for delaying their Quebec approach.
A funeral train arrives in New York at 7 40 tomorrow morning and proceeds under military and naval escort to Washington for burial at 3 p m in Arlington.
