Five Alexander Industries executives face manslaughter charges in Littleton district court after a Friday fire and explosion at the company plant killed eleven employees. The incident prompted an investigation into safety practices and corporate responsibility.

The U S Zinc company plans a seventh smelter block at its northwest plant costing about 50000 dollars. It will add about thirty workers, raising total employment to roughly 330 as the plant runs at full capacity. General Manager Charles Gregg notes the facility is among the city’s largest industries and has expanded since opening years ago.

Friends of Mrs. Harry M. Brown mourn her death at 2114 Tyler Street after July and September operations. The 40-year-old Clarksburg native moved to Amarillo four years ago with her husband, now head of the Amarillo Gas Co. Her family in Clarksburg and Sisters in Youngstown and Clarksburg mourn her passing as funeral plans are announced for tomorrow.

Frank Lockhart died at Daytona Beach while attempting to break the world straightaway mile record in J. M. White's Triplex. The Stutz Blackhawk Special crashed on the beach after multiple test runs, with Lockhart thrown clear and pronounced dead at the hospital. his wife witnessed the tragedy amid crowded grandstands.
Floyd Bennett, famed for aiding Byrd to the North Pole and flying the Bremen relief mission, died in Jeffrey Hale hospital Quebec at 10:45 a.m. of pneumonia. Col. Lindbergh tried serum treatment. Byrd and Bennett were like brothers, Bennett's wife ill at his side.

The body of W. A. Bowen a 55 year old Fort Worth and Denver railroad employee at Channing who died in Amarillo hospital was sent to Dallas at 11 oclock last night in charge of N. S. Griggs & Sons at the request of his Dallas brother F. T. Bowen. No relatives lived in this section of the state.
