New Unit Adds to U S Zinc Smelter North West of City

The U S Zinc company plans a seventh smelter block at its northwest plant costing about 50000 dollars. Missionary Slain by Chinese Soldier in Shantung

Dr. Walter F. Seymour, superintendent of the Presbyterian Foreign Missions hospital at Tsining, was shot through the heart on April 16 by a Chinese soldier. News reached Shanghai only on April 25 due to fighting and disrupted communications between Nationalists and Northerners in Shantung.

Plains Well in Gray County Shows Oil Potential

The Chapman B-1 well in section 50, Gray County, drilled into heavy sand at 2775 feet and flowed oil for 35 minutes after opening. Casing is being set and tests will continue later this week. East of LeFors, north of the Ray Massie well, with Amarillo investors led by W. A. McSpadden involved.

Death claims Mrs. Brown in Amarillo

Friends of Mrs. Harry M. Brown mourn her death at 2114 Tyler Street after July and September operations. The 40-year-old Clarksburg native moved to Amarillo four years ago with her husband, now head of the Amarillo Gas Co. Frank Lockhart died at Daytona Beach while attempting to break the world straightaway mile record in J. M. White's Triplex.
