Philosophers Hear Address on Archaeology of Palestine
At the American Philosophical Society meeting in Philadelphia William F. Albright of Johns Hopkins outlined how Palestinian archaeology reshapes views of the Age of the Patriarchs and Israel’s transition from semi nomadism to peasant nation. Fay Cooper Cole cited new global study fronts in anthropology and George Grant McCurdy discussed Old World prehistory and ice age correlations. Captain Sir Hubert Wilkins and James Rowland Angell will speak at the Bellevue-Stratford dinner, which is expected to draw a large audience as the society marks its intellectual stock taking begun in 1929.
