Prairie Fire Sweeps Roberts County Ranch Lands
Prairie fires in northeast Panhandle ranches continued at noon Monday with a new blaze at the old Tandy Ranch 25 miles northwest of Canadian. Winds rekindled embers threatening Hugh Parsell and Gober Lee Mitchell spreads as investigators attribute the blaze to a careless cigarette. The series since Saturday struck Hemphill, Roberts, and Gray counties, burning at least 30 sections besides the Tandy loss. Pastures, ranch houses, and live stock were saved only through rapid fire-fighting efforts by volunteers aided by plowed fire guards and a large force of men.

Ralls Man Is Named Governor
Lloyd A. Wicks Sr. of Ralls was unanimously nominated district governor by Rotarians at the Panhandle and South Plains meeting at Municipal Auditorium. False Teeth Clue In Hit Run Death At Great Neck
A pair of false teeth found in the radiator grill of a car led to the arrest of Arthur Fogel, 59, in Great Neck. Police identify the teeth as belonging to Mrs. Mary Brown, 81, killed by a hit and run driver last night. Mrs. Agnes McKenna, 72, who walked with Brown, was critically injured. Fogel, a florist, was taken into custody at a tavern near the scene.
