San Antonio is the focus as sheriff John Lott of Atascosa County says evidence points to a 20 year old resident. An 11 year old girl Merle Springer was found stabbed 23 times near her home while walking home from school. Police and farmers searched the Blackjack country for the killer. The victim was the stepdaughter of Elma Dickey of Leming.
Two courses of importance to Girl Scout captains leaders and council members will be offered at the Cactus Region conference in Amarillo beginning tomorrow and running through Saturday. Mrs Sibyl Gordon Newell from New York will lead the council members course focusing on organization and duties. Miss Edith Conant from national headquarters will teach troop organization government and may cover child psychology with a $1 fee for each course.

Chicago police received a telegram reporting Dr. Isaac D. Kelley a missing St Louis physician seen on the Morrison Hotel second floor. Detectives were dispatched to search the hotel after the New York police forwarded the message.
A banquet will honor all Amarillo and Panhandle fire insurance agents attending an Insurance School. More than 50 agents are expected at the Amarillo Hotel at 7 o clock. The Chamber of Commerce hosts with Fut Clark as an entertainer. Jesse's Melody Maids play music while O V Vernon speaks. John K Boyce will preside and urge attendance. The two day school runs through Friday at the Capitol Hotel under Price K Johnson of Craven Dargan and Company Houston.
MOSCOW April 23 A new campaign to exterminate the Kulaks land owning peasants is planned by the Soviet Union. The scheme would banish Kulaks from government jobs force them to register and report movements to police and push them to manual labor or disappearance. Izvestia reports 3 million Kulaks remain with many banished to Arctic camps or shot for counter revolutionary activities.
Twitty, 30, awaits execution for assaulting his sister’s three year old niece in Huntsville Texas. Governor Sterling will not intervene. Twitty accepts his fate, stating he is ready. He enjoyed a final breakfast and prepares for the electric chair as officials describe the process.
