Betty Rose joined Bop Keller of Harrisburg for a college social weekend including dances at the Sigma Nu house and Zeta Tau Alpha, plus an UNC Chapel Hill outing. Mr and Mrs Earl Coffee left for Dallas after visiting Mrs Coffee's mother in town. Weekend guests at Mrs W B Hand included cousins Wallace of Lubbock. Mr and Mrs Hart hosted Ray Watson and family from Russell Kansas. A O Thomas visited L Quinn with Mrs Thomas, sister of Mr Quinn.

Soldiers Welcome Dance in Amarillo Civic Center
A group of soldiers arrived by train and were greeted at the Amarillo Hotel Service Center with a Western style invitation to dance. Volunteers set up the Red Room for the event and provided pencils matches postal cards and cookies. Soldiers enjoyed cigarettes with a modified packaging and noted the hostess touch as a morale boosting gesture.
