Sedition Trial Opens for 28 Defendants in War Plot Case

In Washington, the largest wartime sedition case begins in Federal District Court. Twenty eight men and two women face charges of conspiring to undermine army morale and promote Nazism linked to Adolf Hitler. The trial is expected to take at least two months with Justice Edward C. New Commanding Officer for Amarillo Army Air Field

Brigadier General Arthur E. Easterbrook, commanding since January 21, receives telegraphic orders transferring him to Denver to serve as chief of staff for Gen. John F. Curry's Western Technical Training Command. His successor at Amarillo is not named. Easterbrook is a World War I ace who served with Eddie Rickenbacker and has held multiple posts before his arrival at Amarillo.

Ammunition explosions cause heavy casualties at Bombay dock

Freezing Night Expected As Winds Hit 45 MPH

Report Nazi Peace Efforts Last Year

The London Daily Mail cites an Istanbul dispatch claiming Germany proposed an eight point peace plan to the United States and Britain last December via a neutral diplomat.
