A historic Maundy Thursday ceremony at Westminster Abbey saw 65 men and 65 women receive the King’s gifts from the Lord High Almoner. Red purses held 21 pounds in banknotes, white purses contained 65 pence each. some recipients will be visited privately if unable to attend.

Two Easter Services Planned by Polk Street Methodist
Polk Street Methodist Church schedules two Easter services. The 10 a.m. service will include all children and youth departments with a baptism for those wishing to join. Insurance Left To Horse Cannot Be Taxed By State
David Tannebaum, a state inheritance tax attorney, announced no tax would be levied on a nearly $20 000 bequest to Miss Noria the horse. The mare owned by aviatrix Josephine Callaghan who died in an Abilene Texas crash last September is forbidden to be worked ridden or sold and thus avoids taxation due to lack of horse life expectancy tables.
