In San Francisco on April 18 the army air corps demonstrated unmanned flight by a bomber starting from Matherfield Sacramento with four crew aboard. The aircraft was controlled by a small machine the size of a hat box which piloted the craft to San Francisco, circled over the bay area for 20 minutes, and then returned to Sacramento under remote control.
