The Wisconsin Assembly passed a bill to repeal the state prohibition enforcement law by a 56 to 33 vote. The measure now goes to the Senate, reflecting the overwhelming public vote in the April 2 referendum to abolish the law.

In Borger Texas Scott remained in Hutchinson county jail at Stinnett without bond for the fatal shooting of Mrs. Barney S. Turner aged 38 Monday afternoon. Police said they know Scott's wife location and expect her arrest today though she is not yet in custody. Mrs. Turner to be buried in Amarillo this afternoon and a preliminary hearing for Scott may occur tomorrow.
The Russian Soviet plan to halve world armaments was rejected by the League of Nations preparatory disarmament commission in Geneva. After Japan Germany France and Chile deemed it unacceptable the remaining delegates refused further discussion.
Oklahoma City welcomed a nine car special train of visitors from the Texas plains arriving at 7 30 a m. Breakfast at the chamber of commerce preceded an automobile tour of the city and oil fields. Delegations came from Lubbock Floydada Quanah Matador Roaring Springs Paducah and from Oklahoma towns Altus Snyder Eldorado Olustee Mangum Fletcher Lawton Chickasha.
O. H. Denton and N. J. Mitchell, detectives with the Amarillo police department, resigned effective last night after several years of service.
The Associated Press reports 11,000 textile workers in Mexico plan a sympathy strike starting in Mexico City and vicinity, then Puebla and Vera Cruz, after Sou rasky mills were shut by arbitration board. Workers deeming the shutdown unnecessary follow with broader actions as unrest spreads from the revolu tion.

Miss Eva Farmer nurse from Abilene and Frank Hewitt were arrested by sheriff's deputies yesterday and brought back to Abilene. They bought tickets to Pampa and were identified by a trunk checked at Sweetwater and sent to Amarillo. Sheriff H. T. O'Bar secured the prisoners and departed with them.
Representative Frank Reid calls for a congressional investigation of the Federal Reserve Board's actions over the past decade. Representative Black accuses the board of overstepping credit control into capital, warning it could curb U.S. economic development and foster state regulated socialism.
Sixteen guarantors from Amarillo refuse a 1600 draft drawn on a local bank to cover the deficit of the Chicago Civic Opera Company’s Thais presentation. Mayor Ernest O Thompson, speaking for guarantors, says the company may sue to recover. He claims the show was curtailed in breach of contract.
