Sherman police hunted a thief who burglarized R. W. Rodriguez's service station and took the telephone. The incident follows a report of the same burglar also stealing a telephone from the premises.
Public Buildings commissioner W. E. Reynolds testified before a Senate subcommittee that the White House is a severe fire hazard. The 23 month trial of former Prime Minister Hideki Tojo and 24 fellow wartime leaders concluded as the Far East International Military Tribunal prepares verdicts in six to eight weeks. Twenty five of twenty eight indicted survived to today. two defendants died since proceedings began May 3, 1946.
Mrs James Roosevelt a 32 year old wife of the former president swallowed sleeping pills by mistake in the dark. She was rushed to Emergency Hospital and then St John’s Hospital in Santa Monica after awakening her husband. Roosevelt state Democratic chairman was at the hospital but unobtainable for comment.
