In Dallas a man identified as James French shot at his former wife and guests, wounding one man and grazing two others in a Wentworth alley house. Talley, a guest from Kentucky, and two others fled as French disappeared after the attack. Police hunted French through the night.
Hollywood April 12 Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks to star in an all talkie all color version of The Taming of the Shrew with Pickford as Katherine and Fairbanks as Petruchio. The couple described the film as the greatest project they have undertaken. In a separate item J F Johnston a Texas and Pacific fireman was killed in Lancaster when struck by a switching freight car.
Opera star Marion Talley announces permanent retirement from all operatic appearances. She plans to move with her family to a farm in the West, possibly California or Colorado, after her final Metropolitan engagement in Lucia at Cleveland on May 4.
