University of Texas 1941 graduates will receive real sheepskin diplomas regardless of wartime. The leather is imported from England and, in World War I, diplomas were made on paper.
Detroit April 10 UPI The United Automobile Workers CIO accepted a three point proposal for Ford Motor Company strike settlement, after Gov Murray Van Wagoner presented the terms to both sides. Houston April 10 A 22 year old oil worker told a traffic judge how he wrecked his car into a power pole while kissing his sweetheart, and he was fined five dollars for reckless driving.
In Cincinnati on April 10 officials faced a noisy public clock dispute. After a city hall clock was repaired following stoppage, residents complained it struck too loudly, prompting silencing. Councilman Herbert Bigelow urged reversing the silence amid ongoing complaints.
Fort Worth dispatch reports city policeman C. E. Dicken found a diverse trot line catch on Lake Worth. The haul included a dream, a sand bass, a black bass, a channel cat, a drum, and a mallard drake. The mallard dived six feet to grab a crawfish, and the drake remained alive as the line was checked.
The Easter Sunrise Service at Palo Duro Canyon will be free as admission gate fees are waived by the State Park Board. The plans promise one of the Panhandle’s most beautiful and impressive services.

The L-2 naval training blimp crashed 300 feet south of Lakehurst Naval Air Station while making a test take-off. Four crew members were unharmed. Lieutenant Henry F. Burfeind reported damage limited to fabric. Eyewitnesses saw the craft nose down after appearing to pause mid-air.
In Kansas City on April 10 James McNamar 45 and Gladys Huggins 34 were riding in traffic when McNamar lit a cigarette and slumped over after asking if his companion could drive. His car struck two vehicles, and he died from a heart attack before help arrived.
General George C. Marshall, chief of staff, leaves Fort Sill after an 18 hour visit. He plans to visit Abi lene, Camp Barkeley, Brownwood, and Fort Sam Houston. He calls Senator Morris Sheppard’s death a great national loss.
Captain James Roosevelt and Romella Schneider, once his nurse, to wed in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The ceremony planned as a quiet home wedding with the President's eldest son stating the date remains unchanged unless delays occur. Roosevelt serves as a captain at the U S Marine base in San Diego amid transfer speculation.
A Baylor student arrested for reckless driving said he was hurrying to a radio broadcast rehearsal. Officers confirmed the program on automobile safety. The student paid his fine.
The selective service in Potter County reiterated that changes of address cannot be made by phone. Regulations do not permit it and boards receive about 50 such calls daily.
